The work that Minga Peru has
been implementing along these 10 years has allowed us to develop communication
strategies and methodologies that have been shared with 124 representatives
from 60 social organizations which work in education, environment, consumer
protection, communications, human rights issues in Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador,
Peru , and the United States.
The workshops conducted by Minga Peru are based on an innovative
communication approach which allows:
- Recognizing the importance of including in their
communicative practices the social and cultural characteristics of the people
with whom they work.
- The need to highlight realities that remain hidden, as machismo, racism,
gender discrimination, among others, that while being neglected prevent a
democratic coexistence.
- Paying attention to the promotion of opportunities for training to enrich the
knowledge of social communicators who lack the financial means to attend universities
for training.
- In these
workshops we use as an educational material the "Multimedia Manual for Intercultural
Training for Social Change."
